ITINERARY

  Toda after breakfast we check out of our hotel  and proceed  to the airport for our flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the biodiversity capital of Peru, on arrival you will be greeted by your local tour manager . Then we will start our program with a citybus tour. Then, we will head to the Port of the Captaincy, where our boat will be waiting for you to navigatethe Lower Madre de Dios (the Serpentine River)  . On arrival we check into our lodge and a delicious lunch will await you . 

  CONCHA CAIMAN: At the beginning of the afternoon, you will be accompanied by our specialized guidethrough a well-marked interpretive trail to the Cocha Caimán , a small lagoon where you will have theopportunity to observe the black caiman and the white caiman , efficient predators at the top of the foodchain that feed on the lagoon's abundant wildlife, represented by fish species. Back at the refuge, adelicious dinner (included) will await you

  Later evening dinner and overnight at the lodge .

  Today after breakfast, we will start hiking towards the deep forest. On the way we will pass through the forestriverine towards higher forests, then back down towards floodable forests, then back up towards woodedhills. During the ride, you will identify species of fruit, forest, and medicinal trees that support animal andhuman populations in the Amazon rainforests. Among these are aguaje , mahogany, cashew, catahua ,cedar, cetico , copaiba and shihuahuaco .

  With luck and in silence, you will be able to observe large mammals such as the tapir and the huangan ,rodents like the capybara, pacarana, paca and armadillo , primates like the howler monkey and the liontamarin, reptiles like the iguana and the turtle, amphibians like the toad and birds like the tinamou, thepartridge, the golden parrot and the blue, yellow and red macaw parrot. In the rainforest you will enjoyinsects such as butterflies (lepidoptera), beetles (beetles), crickets, cicadas, ants, centipedes andcentipedes of different species.

  We arrive at the majestic Lake Apu Víctor surrounded by immense swamps and gigantic trees. From theAmazon Lookout (a huge viewing platform), you will enjoy panoramic views of the lake, observing parrots,macaws , toucans, jacamars, ibises, herons and other animals such as caimans, turtles, etc. Varieties offish enter Lake Apu Víctor with rainy season floods (flood). Additionally, there are other species of faunaassociated with the lake, such as the motelo , the matamata , the charapita de l' aguajal , the capuchin,the vireo, the red deer, the añuje and the giant otters of the Amazon rainforest .

  Return to the shelter and have lunch . 

  ISLA DE LOS MONOS: In the afternoon, accompanied by our specialized guide, we will visit Monkey Island,located a few minutes from the refuge in the heart of the Madre de Dios River . In addition to other smallmammal species like the coati ( Nasua ), the squirrel and a huge variety of colorful birds.

  Finally, we will complete our tour of the island by admiring the sunset, with the most impressive sunset in the jungle.

  Later in the evening we return for dinner and overnight at the lodge .

  Today after  breakfast, we will begin an adventure in the virgin forest, accompanied by our local guide. We willhike into the deep forest, using well-maintained trails on our interpretive circuit. Along the way, we willcross temporary waterways called " caños " via bridges in very good condition and we will witness thewidest range of wild flora and fauna species. We will discover a wide variety of ornamental plants ofincomparable beauty.

  On the way to Cocha Perdida , we will identify species of fruit, forest and medicinal trees that supportanimal populations in the Amazon forests. With a little luck, we might spot large mammals such as jaguaror otarong , tapir and huangan ; rodents like the giant otter , capybara, pacarana and armadillo ; primateslike the howler monkey and the tamarin; reptiles like the iguana and the jergón ; amphibians like the toad;and birds like the pava de monte, the partridge, the golden parrot and the red, blue and yellow guacamayoThe rivers leave behind systems of wetlands, lakes, cochas and meanders, such as the spectacular CochaPerdida . Wetlands play a crucial ecological role, as they represent an essential biological home withendemic species and serve as a refuge for mammals. The aguajales constitute seventy percent of thearea protected and restored by the Eco Amazonía Lodge.

  The presence of the aguaje is very important to the Amazonian peoples. It is a mysterious plant, the motherof the forest or the tree of life. The aguajales are home to vigilant guardians such as the jaguar, consideredthe son of the aguajal , the anaconda, the largest snake in the world, the owl which observeseverything from its perch at the top of the tree and the guardian black caiman who punishes anyone whodares to shoot down the female aguajales .

  Once we arrive at Cocha Perdida , we will climb onto a huge observation platform. From there you canadmire the immensity of this magical place where you can observe two types of aguajales : dense andmixed. Then we will take a pleasant walk around the Cocha Perdida and, if you are lucky, you will be ableto see the " nutria gigantic " Pteronura brasiliensis , the largest of its species and one of the mostimpressive animals in the Amazon. Return to the lodge and have lunch  . The afternoon is free to take photos around the lodge, visit the botanical garden and observe our medicinal and fruit plants.

  Later in the evening dinner and overnight at the lodge .

• 04 Puerto Maldonado - Lima

  Today mornng  , after a restful night's rest, the powerful vocalizations produced by the howler monkey will remind you onceagain that you are still in its domain and it is time to leave  . After breakfast we check out of the lodge and proceed on our way to Puerto Maldonado. As we board our flight from  Puerto Maldonado  to  Lima .

  On arrival in Lima airport  we proceed and check into our hotel . Dinner and overnight at the hotel .

  On arrival in Lima  airport we board our connecting international flight back home with a lifetime of memories of panoramic Peru .

   Today after breakfast we check out of our hotel and proceed towards downtown Lima city for a discovery of the colonial part. You will then visit the colonial districts of the city center passing by Plaza San Martin and Plaza de Armas. Visit to theSan Francisco Convent and its catacombs. You will have the opportunity to taste the very famous churros. After visiting the center of Lima, transfer towards the modern district of Miraflores , the most touristydistrict of the city of Lima located in front of the sea. You will pass by the park of love, perched on the cliffwhich dominates the Pacific and place of worship for all lovers. Lunch by the sea .

  Later we proceed to Lima airport for our international flight back home with pleasant memories of a lifetime of panoramic Peru .
